It’s so funny, I have been wearing glasses on and off for years, and most of the time, when I’m not wearing them, it isn’t because I don’t need them, it’s because I can’t afford them. So when asked what if I could get quality eyeglasses on the cheap, I replied that I’d definitely get them and that most of my friends who wear glasses would get them as well. I would especially be interested as I require a rather expensive type of lens called progressive lenses. So if I could get quality eye glasses for cheap, I’d definitely go for it.
Now if you were to ask me who I’d buy glasses for if I could get them cheap, I’d get mine, my best friend LaShawn’s, and her mom’s glasses.
After all, if I can get them cheap, why not do it for others as well? The coolest thing is, there is a place you can get quality eyeglasses for cheap - because they sell you their own frames without a middleman (ie optical shop) butting in there to get their cut of the money. Buying eyeglasses has never been so easy!
Now the place I found is called Zenni Optical. They’ve even been featured in an article in the Chicago Tribune. The article talks about how to save money when buying glasses, and features Zenni Optical as an online option for consumers to use when shopping around to get the best price on their glasses. Frankly, when your read the article, you’ll get a great idea of how economical it really is to buy your glasses from Zenni Optical.
Think about this - eyeglasses from just $8 a pair. What could honestly be better than that? Sure add-ons might boost the price a bit, but let’s face it - for scratch-resistant, glare-resistant, progressive lenses alone I paid almost $200. They wouldn’t cost nearly that much if I went through Zenni Optical. Plus, they offer bifocals, sunsensor lenses, prescription sunglasses, and other lens types.
So if you’re looking for glasses, check out Zenni Optical for your next pair. I know I’m going to.

Well, I missed my orthopedic doctor appointment because I didn’t have the money for the copay, and the doc’s offices around here aren’t willing to let you come back in a couple of days and pay it either. So now I have to reschedule the appointment. Plus I have Wal-Mart blowing up my phone because they’re still holding a prescription I already told them not to hold because I don’t have the money to pay for it. What part of I don’t have the money they don’t understand I don’t know, but no one has any money, so there isn’t an option to actually get it. So here I sit, waiting until I have been paid to reschedule the orthopedic appointment.
Now, to figure out what we’re going to be doing for dinner around here, since there aren’t any leftovers from the other days we fixed dinner.
And since no one has any money, we don’t have a whole lot of supper options going here. LOL So I suppose I’d better get to discussing supper with the other two people here so we can have an idea of what we’re having. After all, depending on what it is, I’ll probably end up cooking it.

A big topic at work is always losing weight. Our HR department even tries to help us along by doing things like telling us that walking around the buildings X number of times equals a mile, and trying to start winter walking clubs to walk inside the building. One of the things that everyone has been discussing lately is the use of various diet aids to assist in weight loss. The one that’s being tossed around most right now is alli. Now I’ve known a couple of people who took alli. I’m not sure if they lost any weight, but as one of the nurses said when I worked at the hospital, some of the side effects aren’t exactly the most pleasant to deal with. Myself, I don’t think I’d want to take it - I eat too many foods on a regular basis that you’re not supposed to eat on alli.
To be frank though, I’m just not one for the whole diet pills and diet aids thing. I tend to do straight forward dieting without artificial assistance. Even when I was going through e-diets, it was straight forward diet and exercise. I guess I just don’t really see the need for the pills and the like. It’s not like they’ll work if you don’t do the regular diet and exercise anyways.

I love my best friend, LaShawn, I really do. Especially when I asked her if she wanted to cook dinner for herself, her mom, and me, or if she wanted me to do it. She looked at me and said “go right ahead.” This is what I get for asking her. She isn’t all that thrilled with cooking, so I went and did it myself. We had chicken friend chicken patties in two flavors - plain and parmesan. We made them into sandwiches and they were yummy. I got them really crunchy, which is how I like them, but I’m not sure if LaShawn and Mom liked them that way. Oops. I always tend to over cook those when I fry them. LOL
I like to cook though. But only if I have more than one person to cook for. I hate to cook for just me. Then I end up eating whatever it is for several meals and I’m sick of it by the time I done with it. The other night I made spaghetti for the three of us and man was it good. I take a ready-made sauce, such as Prego or Hunt’s, and I doctor it to the way I want it. I add hamburger, oregano, basil, parsley flakes, onion powder, garlic powder, and a secret ingredient.
Sometimes I add diced tomatoes and mushroom slices as well, but LaShawn’s mom doesn’t like mushrooms that much so I don’t add mushrooms when I making it for her. But there is one ingredient that I’m keeping secret because frankly, my spaghetti never started to taste so good until I started using it on a whim one night.
I like to experiment when I cook. I discovered that taking a hamburger patty, cooking it and chopping it up, scrambling an egg, and mixing them up, then putting ramen noodles in on top of it is very, very good.
I also add a few splashes of hot sauce to it and oh man is that good!
Most of the things I cook are, quite frankly, things I made up by accident.
It’s true! I throw something together and then realize “hey that’s good!” LOL
Is there anything you like to cook in particular, or anything you made up on the fly that you found out is just totally awesome?
