Well, I’ve been tagged, so here we go. Now Joana tagged me with a meme about voting in the elections. Now I’m one of those people that Joana hates – the people who don’t vote and then whine, moan, and bitch about everything. However, the past few years there’s been an interesting reason. I tried to register last election (I was in Texas) through Rock the Vote. I got clear to the end of the form and when I submitted it, it said that I was past the registration deadline for Texas. *sigh* Plus, at least in my town, you couldn’t do it at the driver’s license station.
Fast forward to this election – I’m dying to vote, I WANT to vote and I’m having more problems registering than I can count. Here you register either online or at the driver’s license station. Now last I was in the driver’s license station, you had to be changing your driver’s license in order to register to vote. So online was my option – until I found out that I had to print and mail my registration in, and I don’t have a freakin’ printer available! *sigh* So now I’m going to have to go this Wednesday (when I’m off again) to the driver’s license place and see if they can get me registered or not.
Now like I said, I’m one of those people who whines about the government even if I didn’t vote, but only after it becomes obvious that the person elected is a complete buffoon and shouldn’t have been elected. LOL Otherwise I keep my opinion to myself. But I agree with Joana – if you didn’t vote, don’t bitch. And as guilty as I am of doing just that I plan on changing it.
