Sears Has Layaway?

Ok, I knew that most stores had done away with layaway, so this season I wasn’t expecting to be able to put anything on layaway as far as gifts are concerned. But then I discovered that Sears (yes, Sears) is going to have layaway this season. I was stoked because this makes it so much easier to buy for the people on my very short Christmas list. All I have to do is put $15 or 20% of the total down, make weekly payments, and take the items home and wrap them when I’m done paying on them. Easy!

I decided to go through and find a few items that I wanted to get for friends and family. First up is LaShawn’s mom. She is constantly cold, and so I thought that this hooded sweater would be perfect for her. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind having one myself!

For LaShawn I would want to get this really cool tea kettle. She doesn’t drink tea, but she loves hot cocoa. So it would still see a lot of use. Especially when I’m there, because she can have her cocoa and I can have my tea.

LaShawn’s dad is a little more difficult though. You see, he’s in a nursing home now. At one time though, this socket wrench set would have been perfect, because he used to mess around with cars. I still know a couple of people that would benefit from one of those regardless! One of them being an old roommate of mine whose bed was put together with bolts that require a socket wrench. LOL

So yeah, Sears Layaway is definitely something that is more than enough to bring me to Sears for my holiday shopping. I mean, really…. put a little down, make weekly payments, take it home and wrap it. What could be easier?

Did They Screw It Up?

Lately I’ve been dealing with a lot of calls regarding the new channel lineup change that Sirius & XM underwent on the 12th of November. The reason people are calling in about it is that we moved a lot of channels around, we removed a few channels, and most of them have been renamed. It would also seem that previously uncensored channels are now censored. Yay. People are not happy. Examples would include the following complaints.

Playboy Radio cannot be found. It moved to channel 99 instead of 198.

The Strobe (disco station) is retired. You’ll have to make do with Joe Causi’s Disco Show on ch 7. Sorry.

There is now only one Spanish language station - Caliente. I apologize. I don’t make the decisions about the channels.

I honestly didn’t expect the reaction we got for The Strobe being gone. I really didn’t. Yet that’s the station that people are literally canceling their service over! If you ever want to know who listens to disco music anymore, I’ll tell you. Sirius Satellite Radio subscribers. :up:

I Don’t Need It

If I keep feeling like this, I darn sure am not going to need anything to help me loose weight. Leptovox move over, the stomach bug is taking your place! I swear, I feel like I’m gonna barf. I’m trying not to, but I swear, I feel like I am. I’m going to work tomorrow no matter what though, because I am not gonna get fired because I was sick. Nope, nope, not going to do it.

I did get hired at another place though - pay cut but option to do unlimited overtime - even an hour or two a day after getting out of training can make a big difference on a check - as well as a pay for performance option, and free bus passes to get back and forth to work if I have perfect attendance make for an interesting package. Plus their insurance takes effect faster and is half the cost of my current insurance. So I’m thinking it over this weekend and I’ll either call them and say no I don’t want it, or I’ll give my boss my notice on Monday. I’m kind of leaning towards not taking it because for training I get off at midnight and my current ride is trying to get out of having to pick me up from work by saying if I take the bus there, I should be able to find a ride home at work. That’s not necessarily true, since people don’t usually like to just give rides to complete strangers. Duh. And I won’t have gas money until I get paid from Stream so…yeah. Not sure about that one.

In any case, I’m off to mess around, read my favorite blogs, and then go to bed. Hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow.

I Don’t Need It
