Bouncing Around on a Bus

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Ok, yes, today I went bouncing around on a city bus. They really should get better shocks on those things. up Those busses aren’t that old. LOL In any case, I took the bus to Wal-Mart because LaShawn’s car is buried in the snow and I didn’t want to wait. No, I wasn’t there to pick up a PS3. LOL I was there to pick up jewelry findings for the earrings I wanted to make. I had a design in my head, but needed eye pins, and also needed longer head pins for the other design I had bumbling around in my head. I ended up giving my first pair of earrings to LaShawn. In other words, I gave her these:

My very first pair of earrings.

My very first pair of earrings.

She thought they were cute, and frankly, although I did too, I wouldn’t wear them myself. LOL I made 3 pairs today like I said:

So there you have them. My earrings. ) Maybe I’ll take Jenn’s suggestion and offer up a giveaway of my earrings. )

New Craft

Friday, December 19th, 2008

I’m taking up a new craft. I’d been interested in jewelry making but had never really done anything with it. Well, today I got a kit at Michaels craft store and decided to try my hand at it. The only problem was, there were no instructions on how to make anything. So I got on the internet and went to about.com. I figured that was the best place to start, and I was right. ) I got simple instructions to make a basic pair of earrings and now I have a pair of handmade earrings. They aren’t the best or the prettiest earrings, but they were made by me and I’m happy with that. )

If I get going and get good enough at it, I might add some of my jewelry to my Etsy shop, but I’m not sure yet. I mean, I don’t want to be doing stuff that is like everyone else’s stuff, but I also would like to be able to sell the things I make as well. Catch-22 anyone? LOL
