WTF PayPal?

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Ok, I can see that PayPal’s customer service is a bunch of absolute crap. I have an issue with some old bank accounts being on my PayPal account. I wish to remove them, so I went and started the process. Easy enough, click, click, done, right? WRONG! For over a month, every time I try to remove an account, I get a message saying “We’re sorry, your last action can’t be completed.” EVERY TIME. So I finally emailed PayPal about it. Their answer?

They said that if I am getting a “page cannot be displayed” error (I clearly did NOT say page cannot be displayed in my letter to them) then it’s a problem with my browser security settings. They then proceeded to place instructions like I was a fucking child who didn’t know how to run my computer on how to upgrade Internet Explorer and Netscape. They didn’t mention Firefox and apparently are unaware that Netscape is now defunct! There are NO new updates to Netscape and it is no longer supported. They also told me how to set the security settings because “they’re too low.”

NONE of that answered my question properly. I was getting a page that was from PayPal that said they could not complete my last action. So I wrote them back and let them know that their answer had nothing to do with my question. If it weren’t for the fact that the paid blogging places only offer PayPal payment, I’d drop them like a hot potato!

Halloween’s Over

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

Unfortunately, Halloween is over for the year, which means that Gothic Peach will soon be getting yet another face lift. Unfortunately, I’m running low on ideas for the theme, and since I just did a Motley Crue theme on Charity Lynn, I don’t want to do another one on here. Maybe I’ll just go with some sort of fall colors/Thanksgiving type theme. I know I did on my Vox blog. LOL But honestly, that doesn’t even really appeal to me. *sigh* I just don’t know what to do for a theme here. I found a couple of pics on the internet that I might just use to make a theme - it’ll be a basic type theme but oh well.

In any case, I don’t have much to say except I hope to have a new theme for you soon. )

Is It That Time Already?

Friday, October 31st, 2008

I swear, I was at the local Wally World the other day and they’ve already got the stuff ready for all of the holiday shopping! I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I saw it because Halloween hadn’t even passed yet! Sheesh. But it got me to thinking, there’s only about a month and a half left to do that holiday shopping.

So as I was sitting here thinking about having to do some shopping for the holidays, I came across some pretty cool information. It seems that there is a contest at Shop & Confess. You can win some pretty cool prizes, including cash.  Now we can all use cash at this point can’t we? I thought so. So check it out.

You’ll want to click here to sign up for the contest. Just tell them http://charity-lynn.com sent you! ) If you’re curious about the whole thing, you can check out the video below for more information. Happy Holidays - a few weeks early. )

Upgrade, Downgrade

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

As of late at work we’ve been going crazy. New plans have been introduced causing uproar. There’s no charge to upgrade a plan but to downgrade a plan, there’s a fee. People are ticked about that. People are ticked about the fact that only a couple of channels from XM are now available on Sirius. They’re even more ticked when they find out that their radios aren’t compatible with the XM signal and so they can’t get the upgrade anyways. I find it hilarious that they don’t care that the incompatibility issue means they save money - they’re ticked because the option isn’t available to them. This from the same people who scream that they can’t afford to take a 2 year plan because it’s $245 (on sale right now from $271.95) even though they’re paying MORE to keep it on a month to month for $12.95. However, I understand where they’re coming from because frankly, I don’t have $245 to drop on radio service, but I can usually scrape $13 together. Then again, I work for them, so if I had a radio (I don’t) I wouldn’t have to pay.

But still - I think the downgrade fee is a crock - and personally if I could waive it, I probably would. LOL
