When Will It Hit Us?

Ok, now I’m curious. If you read this article, you will see that Japan has actually instituted a LEGAL LIMIT on how large your waistline may be, and you are going to have to do something about it if you are over it. So, as an overweight/obese person myself, my question is, when is the US going to suddenly decide this is a good idea? I mean after all, I hate to tell you, I know people who are toothpick thin, who eat FAR more than I do and they sit around doing nothing worse than I do. So yeah…when is the US government going to suddenly decide to take the matter of overweight people into their own hands and start forcing people to lose weight?

I don’t think America will come up with a plan at this point in time. We have far more “important” things to be concerned with, like fighting 2 wars, an election, raising gas prices, and the decrease in the value of the American dollar. Also, we need a new euphemism for the issue of obesity, something that detracts from the issue at hand.

Ultimately, the decision to do something will be on the individual. I’ve noticed that I’ve been gaining some weight. The fact that I am in front of a computer for 12 hours a day is probably the cause. My goal, now that its summer, is to start hitting the pool at first on the weekends, and then on any day when I get off work early enough.

sounds like a good idea because some ppl doesn’t have their own drive to so something unless they’re pushed to ) i had my overweight moment back then but now i think i can control it a little =)
