I was talking with someone at work and we were discussing things we wanted/needed. I said I needed to start saving money to buy a new vacuum, one that will pick up my pet hair. This gal is someone that I’m willing to confide the exact details of a recent issue with my finances, and so I was shocked when she berated me for saying I needed to save for a new vacuum. She said I was being frivolous and that in light of what would be happening financially in my life for a bit, I shouldn’t even be considering it. Ok…so a vacuum isn’t a necessity with carpet and pets? I mean, it’s not like I was wanting to book rooms in laughlin hotels or something like that. I just want to get a decent vacuum that will pick up the pet hair. I guess maybe I need to re-evaluate my finances again – or not speak with my friends about them.
