Well, I’ve Been There But…

Now there are a few places that I’ve been. I’ve been to the bus station in Dallas, TX. I’ve never seen anything else of Dallas, but I have seen the Greyhound Station. ) I’ve never been anywhere that had a Madame Tussauds wax museum either, but I’d love to go to one of them. That would just be awesome. Especially if they’d have a NASCAR display and have all my favorite drivers there. Heck a vacation to anywhere sounds good right now. )

I remember 20 years ago, I went on a trip to Chicago with my church. Now back in the day we didn’t have online travel guides to help us figure out where to go, so the people who organized the trip had to figure it all out on their own. They did a darned good job, or so I thought, of finding us things to do in Chicago. Let me see if I can recount all the places we went.

To start with, it was a Mormon church and the point of our being there was to do youth temple work. So of course, we went to the temple. Now here’s the thing. We walked a LOT of the places we went. We walked from our hotel to the temple. We got to go on our busses a bit later, but when we went to the temple, we walked. It was a good mile from the hotel and ALL of us girls were wearing dress shoes. That kind of sucked. But other than that, the temple portion wasn’t too bad.

Later on, they had us all get on our busses and we went to the Museum of Natural History, the planetarium, and the giant aquarium that are on the shore of Lake Michigan. It was a neat trip, but the problem was, after walking around those places all afternoon, they had us WALK the distance from there to the Sears Tower. Not fun. I’m telling you, I got back to the hotel and I was out before my head hit the pillow. But it was a fun day.

One of these days, I’m gonna figure out some things to do in Las Vegas and take a trip out there. I’ve been by there several times but have never actually been there. I can’t wait to take a trip there. ) I’ll probably check out Trusted Tours & Attractions to help figure out an itinerary for the trip and then take off. I might even sign up for their newsletter so I can keep up to date on what they offer. Plus, I saw where if people sign up for the newsletter, they have a chance to win a handheld GPS system. I’d need one of those. I always get lost in big cities. Just ask my friend Sarah about Kansas City. )
