One of the radio stations around here is going hog-wild (excuse the pun) for this big birthday celebration for Harley Davidson in Milwaukee. They’ve got a contest going to win a trip to this big celebration. All well and good except I don’t have a Harley, I can’t drive a motorcycle at all – don’t know how, and I don’t even have to money to get one of the used Harleys that might be on the market. And let’s not forget that I have a complete and utter lack of vacation time coming – 3 hours to be precise – so I couldn’t go even if I did win the contest.

Now I know that to a lot of people here in Sioux City, it’s a big deal to be able to go to this celebration. After all, one of our biggest festivals is our 3-day Awesome Biker Nights festival that’s held every June. We get some big name, though older I admit, bands to come and play, as well as getting some local bands to play. Apparently one of the local bands this year included someone I knew in high school. Wish I’d known before hand, I might have actually gone since I was off. Oh well. But I digress… the celebration is a big deal to a lot of folks here, but to me…I just wish it didn’t seem to be every other commercial on that station advertising it. I’m starting to think that’s one of the reasons I’m trying to convince my best friend and her mom to get a Sirius radio and let me add it on as my free radio so we don’t have to listen to the commericals ever again!
