So Tired

I don’t know what is wrong with me this last week, but I’ve been really tired all week long. Maybe it’s because it’s gotten really hot and humid this week. Maybe it’s because I haven’t really been eating well this week (no money for groceries kind of kills that one). Maybe it’s because I haven’t been sleeping all that well. Who knows? All I know is I’ve been really tired the last week or so. I’m still getting up and going to work, working on my work-from-home stuff, and crocheting, but I’m just tired when I’m doing it all. LOL

I’m also so tired of my neighbors having barbecues, strewing food all over the front porch, setting up their chairs, etc right in front of my front door, knowing that I need to be able to get in and out of that door. They can’t take their stupid barbecues into the backyard or something. Nope, they do them right there on the front porch that we share. Now I don’t mind them sitting out on the steps and talking with friends, etc. But when they set up lawn chairs and the like and block me into my apartment completely, I have a problem with it. And forget telling the landlords, they don’t do anything. Hell, they won’t even do anything about the handyman not showing up to fix stuff. I did find out that he’s telling them that he’s been there and fixed the stuff, but I can most assuredly prove to them that he has not. If he had, I wouldn’t have a bathtub half full of water and drain opener. I really do need to move out of there as soon as possible.

And to the idiot collection agency who kept saying “you just confirmed your address” over the phone - I confirmed where I LIVE, not where I receive mail which I told you at least FIVE times over the course of the phone call and even offered to give you the correct mailing address at least three times, which you wouldn’t take because “you just confirmed your address.” Ok, if you start off asking me if I live at 123 Whatever Street Apt X, I’m going to say yes, because frankly, I LIVE there. But I don’t get mail there. Oh, and I find it highly suspect that you have a “bounced check” from 1997 that I need to pay off considering the account you claim it was from was closed, by me, in November or December of 1996. Also, if I really DID have a bounced check to that grocery store that hadn’t been paid off, I wouldn’t be able to write checks there now, and I can. A note for my readers: the worst of it is that I have been asking, both in writing and over the phone, for hard proof, aka a copy of the bounced check, that it is real, and have gotten nothing. They keep calling demanding payment, I keep reminding them that I asked for proof of validity of debt.

They also keep making false claims that they sent me notices. Well, let’s see here. I’ve had ONE notice from them, in April, when I requested they send me proof of validity since frankly, I know when I closed that account and I know that account couldn’t have been used. I’ve never gotten anything else from them. They claim they sent me a notice for a different bill on June 2, 2008. I know this is not true because I was at that time, and still am, in dispute over charges with the actual cable company. That and I had received a notice from the cable company themselves in May.

The cable company says I didn’t turn in the modem. Well I sure as hell don’t have the modem, and their tech came and took it, so I don’t know where it is, but I don’t have it. Hell, I gave it back to the guy IN THE BOX! The dumbass probably used it at another service call and never reported it. It wasn’t provisioned to my account anymore, and when he didn’t bring it back, they assumed I still had it. I even offered to allow them to come and search my apartment for this modem. They declined. I’m also fighting charges that were added for service I didn’t have in the first place, and credits that were supposed to have been applied and were not. I’d been told what my final bill was supposed to be and it wasn’t $475, thank you very much. It was only $120. And I know that modem doesn’t cost THAT much.

Another thing I find highly suspect is that no one, not even the cable company had my cell phone number but they called my on my cell phone. My cell phone is NOT IN MY NAME my best friend put me on her plan so we could get a discount) and so they should not have been able to get that number. Also, neither of the bills they supposedly have to collect from me have my full middle name on them, yet the only notice they’ve ever sent me, as well as all their phone calls, use my full first, middle, and last names. Even my CHECKS have L, not Lynn on them. So I find it interesting that they have that and are using it. I’ve requested that they not do so, as frankly, I find it inappropriate. My BANK doesn’t even know my middle name is Lynn. They know my middle initial is L, but not my full middle name.

Now I’m not saying I’m not going to pay the bills, but one of them I want proof that it’s even real, the other, I want charges that I don’t actually owe taken off first. I’m not paying $475 for one and $55 for the other just get them off my back. I’m not like that. I don’t pay off collection agencies to get them off my back. I’m fighting with another one over items I don’t even have! They claim I have these dragon ornaments - well, I do have dragon ornaments. And I paid for the ones I have. They’re billing me for the 2nd shipment in the set - which I don’t have. And I’ve told the company with every bill they’ve sent, I don’t have them. Now they sent it to a collection agency, which I sent a letter stating the same thing, I don’t have them, and will not pay for them because I have no reason to. Sheesh. And people wonder why I changed my mailing address. Because I was tired of not getting stuff and being billed for it anyways!
