		<description>That happens here too. You call for an ambulance and you get at least one squad car and the fire truck. But I can understand why, at least for here. The police can secure the area and keep nosey people away and traffic flowing if necessary. They can also be on hand to take a statement immediately. If you call for an ambulance they come from one of two large cities, minimum twenty miles away, out here in the boonies the local fire department can respond much faster and since they have basic knowledge of cpr and what not they can at least help to keep the person stable or alive until the EMT can arrive. I imagine that might be the case where you are. Your fire department is closer and so they respond first for that reason, in order to buy time for the ambulance to arrive.</description>
