Not a Drinker….

12050700491.jpg I have to say, I’m not much of a drinker. It’s not something I’ve ever really gotten into. So when I was asked to give a review of wine, my first thought was, ‘I don’t know anything about wine.’ My next thought was, who cares? I’m curious about these wine clubs I’ve been hearing about.

When the package arrived, I immediately opened it up to see what was in it. It made me feel pretty special to see a card in the package that stated that the package had been created and packaged just for me. When I tore the paper off the bottles, I discovered that I’d been sent a Merlot and a Cabarnet Sauvignon. Mind you, like I said, I’m not a drinker, so I hadn’t really tasted either of these before. I liked the tastes of both of them, the Cabarnet seemed a little “smoky” tasting to me. The Merlot had a smoother flavor to me though. Both were excellent as far as I can tell, but of course, I’m not really a wine drinker either. :)

What intrigued me most however, was the newsletter that came with it. It included a lot of information about the Madrona Vineyards that produced the wines I’d been sent. I never knew there was a vineyard in the El Dorado Hills of California! I have family that lives there, so I was pleasantly surprised to read about that. The newsletter was quite informative about both the vineyards and the wines the vineyards produced. I was highly impressed with it.

I’m of the mindset that a membership to a wine club would be an excellent gift for someone that drinks a lot of wine or is a wine connoisseur. If I drank wine more often than I do, I would love to have a membership to this wine club myself.
