At 8:30 am, I have my first appointment with the orthopedic doctor. He will be checking up on my right knee, which at this very moment is swollen, painful, and well, annoying the heck out of me! I know that being as heavy as I am, the first thing he’ll probably want to do with me is put me on a diet pill or find some other way of enforcing that I lose weight, but regardless, fat or thin, this knee problem is not going to go away.
Nevermind the fact that I actually slept right through my physical this morning. Yes, I was supposed to have a physical this morning. I slept right through the appointment and never even got a call from the doctor’s office to a) remind me I had an appointment (my doc’s office ALWAYS does this) or b) say “hey stupid, you were scheduled to be here at 10:45, where are you?” UGH So I’m sure I’ll get screamed at as the doc’s office has a rule that if you blow off 3 appointments, you are ineligible to make an appointment until the next calendar year. Yes, they will actually tell you that you cannot make an appointment until next January if you miss 3 appointments. Although according to a friend who is a nurse, this is actually illegal – your doctor cannot refuse to see or treat you. But whatever. It would give me an excuse to get a different doctor.
In any case, the fun part of all this is that I am supposed to start jury duty the same week. Good grief – between work, doctors, and jury duty, next week is going to be busy busy busy!
