My So-Called Life
Life Insurance
One of the most annoying commercials I’ve seen on TV is the one for the Gerber Life Grow-Up Plan. If you’ve seen this commercial, you know what I mean. One of the things, I’ve often wondered is this: how is purchasing your children insurance on their lives, preparing for THEIR future? Other than them not having to buy their own life insurance later? After all, they have to die to collect the money, so how do you propose that this is helping to prepare them for their future? I don’t know. Maybe if I was a parent, I’d understand it better, but to me it seems weird to say you’re preparing for your child’s future by putting a life insurance policy on him or her.
