Life = ARGH!

Ok, so if you happen to be one of my followers on Twitter then you’ve probably already heard about the 2.5 hour notice my landlord gave me before I was evicted. They claimed I was sent a notice in the mail, but both me and BFL looked through my mail and there wasn’t anything in there. Then again, about three-quarters of my mail was open and out of the envelopes in my mail box, so that doesn’t surprise me. The thing is, yes, I was behind on the rent, but they knew I’d been sick and had been off work, and we had made a payment arrangement which I was sticking to, so I don’t know what the heck went on with it. All I know is that all of a sudden, the arrangement wasn’t good enough, and that even though I was just in there the other day paying on the rent, they never mentioned I was being evicted.

So yeah, everything but the few things I could grab and stuff in the car in a 2.5 hour period of time is gone. Some of it (piano, a few other items) had sentimental value, but other than that, it was all just stuff. A lot of it I didn’t even care about – knick knacks, etc. Just a bunch of stuff that I can probably get on eBay to replace if I really wanted to do so. But I got my pets, my desktop towers, my printer, my clothes, and some other stuff.

BFL and her mom were kind enough to take me and my animals in, and while I am still actively looking for a job, I can at least have a bit less of a worry about finding one ASAP. If it takes longer than expected it won’t be an issue. However, one thing I have to say, I won’t be needing a diet pill any time soon, as thanks to the stress and irritation, my stomach is so upset, I can barely eat anything. LOL But I’m sure that will change soon and frankly, it’s almost a relief to be out of that place. They claimed it was a nice apartment – yeah, when I moved in the carpet was stained and had burn marks in it, there was a hole in the ceiling (that never got fixed), the ceiling leaked in the front room, the kitchen, and the bathroom, the bathtub didn’t drain, the toilet wouldn’t flush 95% of the time, the bathroom faucet ran constantly until I shut the hot water valve to it off, the kitchen sink leaked, the kitchen faucet leaked, and the oven never worked once the entire three years I lived there. Plus, someone who lived there before I did cut some of the drapes in half so the windows weren’t covered, there were broken windows (well, cracked), and most of the screens were either gone or torn. Yeah, real nice apartment there. Sorry people. I don’t think so.
