Land….
You know, one of the things I find very interesting about the state of Iowa, is that when you buy a house, you only buy the actual building. The land it sits on belongs to the city or state. At any time, if the city wants to build something on your land, they can tell you that you’re moving, pay you for the building you lived in, and force you to move. It happened about 10 years ago, when the city wanted to build a new strip mall. So if I buy a house or a business building and I only own the building, not the land, how on earth can I possibly purchase a land investment? I’d have to be able to buy the land in order to do so wouldn’t I? And I can tell you here, all lots are for lease, not sale. How silly that your “property” is only actually the building. Oh for the good old days, way back in the 1700s and 1800s when you could buy land and actually own the LAND!

Really? See I don’t like that at all, you should buy the house and the land that’s on it. That kinda makes it like the government can still take your house if they want it cause they own the land. That’s awful. You’re right about the good ole days, it would be nice to actually own real property.
