When I was still living in Texas, long before Gothic Peach was even though about, my room mate decided that she wanted to buy a house. Now, she wasn’t used to the process of buying a house that she would have to make payments on, since her parents always bought their houses outright. Don’t ask me how they could afford to do it, but they did. So when the real estate agent explained to Leah that she would have to have home owner insurance on the house, she didn’t understand what they meant. Her parents never bought it because they owned their homes outright. To mean, that’s stupid, I would have it even if I didn’t have a mortgage. After all, I’d want to at least be able to get something to get me up and running again if my home were destroyed somehow. After all, I’d have to have somewhere to live and I sure would like to be able to have my own place, furniture etc.
Heck I’m considering getting renter’s insurance after what happened in September with my neighbors leaving something cooking on the stove and it catching fire. I’m just lucky I woke up before myself and my animals died of smoke inhalation, considering my apartment was full of smoke when I woke up. Sheesh.
