Issues no more….
Well, I can download email, and I’ve fixed the issues that were causing the wrong colored text on my site. So the orange text is gone. I’ve also got the CSS validated and the Going Pink, and Rainbow Beauty skins have been validated as XHTML. The Gothic Flower skin is still being re-coded to validate.
I love the way my boss volunteers me to do stuff. Now I’m coming in early on the day I took off for vacation to help set up for the Christmas party. I didn’t know that. But apparently I am. Bleh.
I’m giving my friend some money (she doesn’t have any) to go and get some Christmas presents for me. That way, even though I paid for them, I’ll at least have some presents and not know what they were before I got them. 
Yeah, I know. Weird. But what can I do? I don’t have family that sends me anything. My family has a weird tradition. As soon as a person turns 18, they stop receiving presents until they get married. It’s kind of rude for those of us like me, who aren’t married and don’t actually plan on getting married. Bleh.
All right….I suppose I’d better get going. I’m starting to get sleepy again. LOL

That is kinda weird, both giving your friend money to buy you things and your family not getting you anything!! But if it works for you, it’s pretty smart to just buy your own and have a friend give you them…at least you have something to open then, right?

Anyways, bummer about the family “tradition”. But you get presents from your friend and you know you’ll like them!
I don’t plan on getting married either. It’s not important to me for a piece of paper to validate a relationship.

That’s kind of sucky about the tradition thing =/ we have a similar one in our family that when someone is 18 we don’t get birthday or xmas prezzies from aunt and uncle… so yeh, that applies to me now.

I would break that so fast by giving myself presents. I mean, presents are presents! It’s not cool to stop commemorating something after a certain time.
As for the layout, fix the padding on the posts and you should be okay. Comments extend too far to the right, the text is too far the left. Also, the bright pink background kinda hurts my eyes. Maybe tone it down or make it a textured background?

In our family no one over 18 will receive that many gifts either - Christmas is for the little ones I guess - but I certainly don’t mind at all. I hate buying presents - I would do fine without presents at all - as long as I didn’t have to buy any for others than my daughter either.

i haven’t received a birthday gift this year and my parents told me no to the MP3 player, so why should i expect them to get me a christmas present? i’m 15 not 18. if i was 18, i would go out and get the MP3 player myself.
i was already too old to get anything for christmas from relatives (except the closest aunt) since I was like 10. it’s only for the tinies.

I’ve told my friends what to get me for Christmas and even went with them to get it so they don’t waste their money, but never have I given them money to buy it. Why don’t you just get the presents yourself?

You’re right, giving your friend money to buy you presents is weird, but Christmas is all about what you are talking about.. well its about family, friends, giving, being together etc so you have to do what you can!

That’s mean. My mom still buys Christmas presents for my brother even though he’s 34 and not married.

I would be angry. That’s not a cool family tradition. Since you said you’re not getting married what will happen? We have the traidition of the kids gets 5.00 in a card because there’s so many of us in the family now. I’m sorry your boss just volunteered you to do that. I would say something to her, since it is your vacation.
