Yes, you read that right. When it comes to music, I am just as likely to be found listening to Necrophagist & Cryptopsy as I am to Def Leppard & Nelson. I’ll play Martina McBride, Garth Brooks, Sarah Brightman, Rick Nelson, and anything in between as well. I’m not too big of a jazz fan, but I’ll listen to it – I’ve gone to see jazz bands perform before and I would again. I just plain love music.
Granted rock/metal/goth music is usually on the top of my list, along with various pop artists, but right now, I’m listening to a Martina McBride CD via iTunes.
If you check my Last.fm profile, you’ll see a rather eclectic mix of music as a general rule on it.
I have just never understood the insistence that some people have that people must listen to one type of music and one type of music only. I will listen to anything and I have no problems admitting to any of the bands/artists I listen to. There are no “guilty pleasures” here. If I like it, I listen to it and I am not ashamed to admit it. Heck, if I could find any, I’d have a Tiffany CD in here!
Do you go for the whole “listen to one type of music” thing or do you think that it’s possible to like just about anything and listen to what you want to??
