My So-Called Life
Is It Really That Hard?
You know, I used YouMail for my voicemail. Ok, so you probably didn’t know, but I do. I like it better than the voicemail that came with my phone because I can check my voicemail on the internet. I don’t even have to listen to voicemails I don’t want to hear – I just delete them from the website without listening to them. The most likely ones to get that are numbers I either 1) don’t recognize or 2) don’t have a number at all, just say no caller ID or something along that lines.
Really, if you feel you have business to conduct with me, send me a letter. I don’t do business over the phone. Period. Why not? Been burned too many times. It’s bad enough I’ve got Publisher’s Clearing House trying to say I ordered magazines in 2007 that I never ordered and certainly never got, but now I have some jackass telling me he’s got a “potential fraud case” in his office. Ok, then how come when I call, all I get is a damn voicemail to leave my name and number and never a real person? If you really have a bill that the people I owe has submitted to you as potential fraud, why don’t you send me a letter about it? You must have my address if you have my phone number.
And really, learn to leave a shorter message. I can’t even give you the reference number because it cut off three digits into the number. Use a brain. Is it honestly THAT hard to use the US Postal Service as a means of communication? Honestly, what happened to the days of getting a damned bill so it could be paid? I don’t deal with phone calls. You want your money, you send me a bill in the mail. I don’t do phone payments.
