Going Green?

One of the things I keep reading about is “going green.” It’s something that as a Wiccan, I’ve gotten more and more interested in. Sure, it’s easy to switch from using paper cups in the bathroom to a reusable, washable glass. It’s even easy to switch to the new fluorescent light bulbs like those from Sylvania light bulbs that are supposed to last for five years, use less energy, and because they last five years, use less waste. Now if they’d just reduce the packaging for them, it’d be great.
Other people are switching from traditional laundry soaps to things like soap nuts instead. Some are refusing to buy anything packaged in plastic, which to me would indicate they are left with few shopping options anymore. But with stores trying to help customers go green by charging them for green bags, some people might just not be so willing to switch from plastic bags. Besides, I don’t know about YOUR local big-box stores, but I bring my re-usable bags in and go to use them at the register and I get looked at like I’m nuts. *sigh*
