Ok, so the title is a little late, considering the Steelers won the Super Bowl a few hours ago, but hey. I was busy watching the Super Bowl at that time. Yes, you read that correctly. I watched a football game.
I have not watched a football game in 21 years. I haven’t watched a football game since my dad passed away in December of 1987. That’s a long time. It’s not that I hate football, but I prefer other sports, such as NASCAR and WWE wrestling to football.
I wouldn’t have watched the game if it hadn’t been for being at LaShawn’s house today. She and her mom were going to a Super Bowl party being held by some members of their church and they’d signed me up for it as well, just in case I was there. I was there, so I went with them. Except for getting up to get food, I never left the couch and I watched the game. I actually watched it. I didn’t understand the majority of what was going on to be honest, but I did watch the game.
The funniest thing was, there were only 2 Steelers fans in the house. Myself and one of the kids were rooting for the Steelers. Everyone else was rooting for the Cardinals. Guess it just goes to show the power of the minority.
In other news, my cold is still here, and my sore throat is worse than it was before. I’ll be going back to the doctor tomorrow because something has to be done. I still can’t talk, and I’m going to lose my job if I don’t get my voice back soon. I can’t afford to lose my job as frankly, there isn’t a great job market here in town right now (like there’s a great job market anywhere). So I really can’t afford to lose my job at the moment.
I suppose I’d better sign off for now and hope that I can get up early enough tomorrow to be able to get in and out of the doctor’s office before 1pm, which is when I’m supposed to be at work. :/
