Ok, I understand that Subway is marginally healthier than McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, etc. However, that is only if you order certain sandwiches on certain bread types and only if you do not add any sauces or cheese to the sandwiches. So exactly how much healthier is it? Most people, myself included, can’t resist ranch or mayo, much less cheese. I have to have cheese on my subs.
Also, I dislike tomatoes, peppers, and onions, so none of those make it onto my sandwiches, making the meat/cheese to veggie ratio high on the meat/cheese side. Plus I rarely choose white or wheat bread, instead opting for Monterrey Cheddar or Italian Herb and Cheese bread. Not particularly slimming either.
Of course, that is just me. I’m picky, so I don’t eat very many of the subs. And I know that at least the Sweet Onion sauce (which is AWESOME on a roast beef sub) is fat-free and I believe the honey-mustard sauce is as well.
However, I have yet to meet anyone in person who has actually lost any weight by eating Subway. Yes, I know, Jared. But I don’t speak to him in person, I have never met him, and therefore he doesn’t count.
