To be honest, I no longer have anything to blog about.
Since I was fired from my job, although in a very strange way, I really don’t have anything to say anymore. Today, although my intention was to get out and put in applications, I ended up sleeping in and then going out to get something to eat with my best friend and her mom (her mom paid for mine).
I’ve put in applications for Hollywood Video and Best Buy because you can apply for those places online. There are a few other places here in town that are hiring that I know have online applications, and I have one in for my old employer out at Stream as well. So that’s 3 applications that I have in. I have to get a new copy and re-fill out the Hobby Lobby application as I messed it up somehow. So that will be 4 applications, and I plan on getting an application for McDonald’s (if they don’t have one online I can fill out) tomorrow, which will be 5 applications. Just goes to show that I am not above working fast food or retail. A job is a job. I’ll work whatever I can to have an income.
Place I know for certain I’ll be going to place applications:
- McDonald’s
- Target
- Hobby Lobby
- Vantus Bank
- Hy-Vee
- Fareway
Those are just a few of the places I’m going to put applications in at. I’m sure there are several more I can find to put in applications, plus we have a workforce development office just down the street here, so I can go there and register for work as well. I plan on doing everything I can to get back on my feet.

I will bet that you have just as much to say now, if not more so. We derive identity and self worth from our jobs, but we are really much more than that, aren’t we?
Hang in there. And just keep moving forward.
Best of luck.

I have to agree with Matt, your job is something you did it’s not what defined you. You still have plenty to blog about, not to mention, your posts are as fulfilling as ever. Perhaps even more so without the added stress?
I give you props for being willing to work fast food. I could never do it. After working at stop and robs there is no way I could handle fast food without snapping.
