I’m on my old laptop right now because I’m re-imaging my new one. Somehow, something has gotten messed up, and Microsoft Office will not install on it. I need Office for my school work – I used to use Open Office, which is free, but since I’m working with learning teams now, we all need to have the same software to work with.
I suppose I could try to entice one of them to start the papers and then upload the papers to SkyDrive, then share them with the rest of the team members, so I could use the Word Web App, but I’m sure there would be at least one teammate who would have a conniption fit about having to log into SkyDrive and edit the paper there before it was downloaded by the week’s team leader.
When I have a chance to be a team leader, I plan to ask about using SkyDrive to see if that would be helpful. We can’t talk over SkyDrive without providing a transcript of the conversation, but we can definitely work on the paper itself – AKA write our parts of the paper via SkyDrive.
Of course, this final week’s assignment is a PowerPoint, and of all things, they want us to create a Word document of what we want to say and our resources to put through the Plagiarism checker – which is blatantly stupid if you ask me, since no matter what I’ve ever submitted to that stupid Turnitin thing, it ALWAYS comes back 0% plagiarized, even when I purposely copied and pasted an article into a Word document and submitted it to Turnitin, just to see if it would come back with 100% or 0%.
In any case, Load Damn You! refers to both the re-imaging (3 hours after I started and it’s on 76%) and to Microsoft Office. Load damn you, load!
