I admit, I use my new printer a lot. I print recipes, crochet patterns, knitting patterns, etc. I do this because it’s easier to cook, crochet, or knit, when I don’t have to look at a computer screen for the pattern, and frankly, it’s annoying as all heck to have to write everything down in a notebook. So I print that stuff. But that is my choice – I choose to print these things.
However, I am getting really tired of all the instructors at University of Phoenix demanding the printing of the syllabus and instructor policies. LaShawn even had an instructor tell her that hopefully she’d be able to get a printer so she could print out the syllabus and instructor policies because most instructors require it.
Why? I can download the Word document and I can open that document anytime I want to. Why should I have to print the syllabus or instructor policies out? That is a waste of paper, ink, and time. My advisers said not to worry about it, but still, it bothers me. That shouldn’t even be listed and frankly, no instructor should be allowed to tell a student he or she needs to get a printer. That isn’t listed as one of the hardware requirements to attend school, so it shouldn’t be required in any class.
