Why is it so hard?
To get rid of a damn web host? I do not like Site5. I do not want Site5 any longer. However I am battling them to get my account cancelled as I requested. First they tell me that they are going to apply a discount (that took a whopping $1.40 off my bill for the month) and that now they feel my hosting is affordable enough for me. Then they tell me that they can’t cancel my account because the verification information did not match – let’s see here – I wasn’t asked for any verification information until just today. So I replied with that. I swear, if that account is not cancelled in the next ticket response they send me, I will find a way to take legal action against them.
They are continuously attempting to charge my debit card for a service I have told the I do not want. I have all the “payment error” emails in my Gmail and I am not afraid to print them out to show a lawyer to prove that I am being more or less harassed by these people.
Sorry Site5, I don’t want your services, and if you send someone to comment on this blog post, you can forget it. I want nothing to do with you ever again – in fact, I’ll transfer the domain I registered through you to GoDaddy or NameCheap as soon as I can.
ETA: By the way, I find it funny that when I signed up, I was told I had a 30 day free trial and that I had to contact billing to “upgrade my account to paid status at the rate of my choice (yearly/monthly)”, yet somehow I was switched to monthly payments without my asking to switch or without Site5 asking me if I wanted to switch.
