What’s That Noise?

Apparently while I was in Colorado the first time this year, the furnace started to make a weird noise. I haven’t heard the noise because LaShawn and her mom shut the furnace off at the breaker switch to make the noise stop happening. This would be fine for now except for now we have to get the gas meter replaced, and the gas company states that they are required to re-light all pilot lights in the house when they are finished. This requires that the power to the furnace be on. We are hoping that it either doesn’t make the noise at all, or that the guy from the gas company will know what it is. I’m betting that it will make the noise, but the guy from the gas company won’t know what it is.

I have no idea what we’ll do if it turns out the furnace needs to be replaced. We don’t have the money for that at all and we have no way of getting the money for that. We may need to look into getting a few infrared heaters for the house and using them instead of the furnace if it comes down to it. I’ve heard so many good things about them, including the fact that the cats could literally lay on the heater and not get burnt 1, that I’d love to have one or more for the house. Besides, I’ve heard they’re cheaper to run as well.

Any thoughts?
