Did You See That?

If you noticed an issue loading my blogs, you are right. There was an issue loading my blogs. Apparently there was an attack on my server. The hosting company was dealing with the attack and shut down my server. That is fine. I would rather they shut down the server and deal with the attack than allow everyone to get hacked. That is great.

What is not so great? Seeing their “real time” server status page never once list my server as being down. Now I realize that web hosts advertise their services based on their up-time. People go with a host because they have a high percentage of up-time, among other things. But I have noticed that many hosts say they have 99.9% up-time or something like that, when in fact, the up-time is lower than that. But you will never see it unless you host your sites there or go to a friend’s website, who happens to host there.

Oy – I just want a host that is up most of the time and does not give me issues. Glad I was on the free trial. I can not see why most Site5 customers are so in love with their services. :P
