What The Heck?

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I was talking with someone at work and we were discussing things we wanted/needed. I said I needed to start saving money to buy a new vacuum, one that will pick up my pet hair. This gal is someone that I’m willing to confide the exact details of a recent issue with my finances, and so I was shocked when she berated me for saying I needed to save for a new vacuum. She said I was being frivolous and that in light of what would be happening financially in my life for a bit, I shouldn’t even be considering it. Ok…so a vacuum isn’t a necessity with carpet and pets? I mean, it’s not like I was wanting to book rooms in laughlin hotels or something like that. I just want to get a decent vacuum that will pick up the pet hair. I guess maybe I need to re-evaluate my finances again - or not speak with my friends about them.

I want to go to CrueFest so badly! But they aren’t coming near me. Oh well, I probably couldn’t get off work anyways! HMPH. But you could see if they are coming near you. )

Ok…

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

I’m starting to wonder what exactly is going on anymore. I haven’t been getting any of my paid blogging assignments for this blog lately. I mean, granted I realize that for a while, most of my posts had paid links in them, but frankly, I didn’t make them specifically about that link, I just worked it in when I had a chance to do so. So what gives? One company, they’ve given me 5 links instead of the usual 10 that I get each pay period and the 5 they’ve given me are for my Vox blog. Oh well. I guess I’ll figure it out at some point. I mean, I’ve even NOT used this blog for somethings that I would have liked to have used it for specifically to not lose my ability to get assignments for the one company and then I don’t get any on this blog? WTF?

In any case, work is kind of annoying right now. I’m supposed to start a new schedule on the 30th but I’m not really happy with it because I need Sundays off and they have my working Sundays. I’m hoping they’ll switch my Saturday off to Sunday because I really need to have Sundays off. I need to be able to get to work and I don’t have a ride on Sundays. Heck, I’m gonna have a problem on 4th of July getting home since my ride is going out of town to a picnic. Bleh. But tomorrow they’re supposed to have a meeting for those of us who need to switch their schedules and see what they can do about getting the schedules fixed up. I hope they can fix mine.

I’ve been trying to make sure I update my blogs tonight. I’ve already posted on Vox and Got-Wicca.Org. Now I’m getting this blog, and then later I’ll probably get Charity-Lynn.com. So I’m off to watch the rest of RAW, then possibly do some more blogging.

Memory Lane

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Ever stop and take a trip down memory lane, just for the heck of it? Let me see here… here are a few things I used to do…online…

  • I used to run a Hardy Boyz fan site that actually got more visitors than their official site did at the time. Where is it now? Gone. I still have everything for it, I just don’t have it online.
  • I used to bounce from plugboard to plugboard everyday, making sure my button hadn’t fallen off. I’ve stopped doing that, but I’m almost tempted to start up again just for the heck of it. LOL
  • I used to use Tripod and Geocities as my main servers. I think everyone pretty much started out that way. ) My first paid hosting account? Tripod Premium! LOL No ads and extra space, but it wasn’t a domain name.

I’m sure there’s more but I can’t seem to think of anything right now. I used to run a plugboard and a button exchange too, but they weren’t used much and I gave up on both of them. It’s funny, but I can remember when my main focuses were fan sites for wrestlers and Motley Crue (Nikki Sixx actually signed my guestbook o_O) and chatting with friends in an AOL room called Motley Forever. )

There’s some new stuff going on at Cherry Ice Graphics - I’ve added WordPress Themes. Right now there’s only one theme, and that’s the one that’s on Charity-Lynn.com. I edited the theme so it would work for others. It’s a Nikki Sixx theme, perfect for a blog about Motley Crue, Sixx:A.M., Nikki Sixx, or music in general. Or if you like Nikki Sixx. LOL Some of my other “androgynous” themes will also go up there as soon as I grab them off my other computer. I’m also considering converting Cherry Ice to being powered by WordPress, but I haven’t made that decision yet. I may instead go with a CMS like Joomla or something. I’ll have to see on that.

I’m also working on learning to code MySpace layouts, but that one is VERY slow going as everything I try to do with it doesn’t seem to work. *Bangs head on table.* Oh well, I’ll get it soon enough. )

Last but not least, I have yet another new blog - Where There’s Smoke…. It’s a NASCAR Blog. If you like NASCAR, check it out. )
