I am so glad I do not live in the San Antonio area. As I’m sitting here at work, I am trying to transfer someone to the local Time Warner office in San Antonio and just heard that the expected wait time is 1 hour 26 minutes - 2 hours. I’m going to wait on the line for a few minutes though, because I know that sometimes, that wait time is not the real wait time, especially when it is a transfer from my level of support.
I tried to drop some entrecards from my desk here at work, but although I could load the entrecard website, half the sites wouldn’t load, as our proxy server blocks blogger.com websites.
So I can’t drop entrecards right now. Bleh. I wish I could because I’ve been really bad about dropping my cards lately. My only problem is, besides not having access to the internet at home, I have 4 blogs at entrecard right now, and they recently started limiting how many cards you can drop from a particular IP address per day. So if you have more than one blog, you can only do I believe it is 2 blogs’ worth of card drops per IP address per day. Boo. That means when I do get access again, I’ll have to split my drops up, two of the blogs every other day, swapping back and forth between the sets of blogs. Lovely. Then again, I’m probably hogging entrecard resources with that many blogs in the system. I’ve considered deleting a couple of the blogs, but a couple of them have actually gotten some new readers because of my having the blogs in entrecard, so I hate to do it.
And finally a pet peeve. I realize that now SEO is all the rage and that trying to get your keywords to show your site at the very top when you do a google search is what everyone wants, but please, when you leave a comment, leave your name. Not your site name, not a keyword for your site. Your NAME. From now on, no matter how relevant to the post the comment is, unless I know you, I’m going to delete your comment. No, I’m not going to strip your link, I’m just going to delete your comment, period. I don’t need your comment hanging around on my blog if all it’s really there for is to get YOUR site some google love. I am sorely tempted to remove my nofollow plugin for that reason. So be kind, leave a proper name and forget the SEO thing. This blog might be monetized and I might do posts for pay, but quite frankly, it’s still a PERSONAL blog, and I do post things about my life here as well. I prefer to keep my comments on point, and frankly, having site names and keyword phrases in my comments looks spammy. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
