Pink iPod Shuffle

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

I have to start looking for a pink iPod shuffle. I’m sure I’m going to have a tad bit of difficulty with it. I know I could probably get a refurbished one for $40, but I’m just not sure if that would be the best buy for it. I want to get the best possible price on it, not because I’m trying to cheat my best friend out of a good iPod, but because I don’t really have the money right now to get her that iPod. You see, her birthday is March 21st and right now, I’m behind in a few bills and need to get caught up. She knows this, she IS my best friend after all, and she’s willing to wait a bit after her birthday to get her shuffle. I just don’t want it to go too far after her birthday.

Now some people might recall my post about what she and her mom got me for my birthday, which was a $10 mug/cocoa/cookie set by Starbucks. Why would I spend more on her? Easy, because they bought me something they knew I’d like. That’s what counts. They knew I’d like it. I don’t care how much it cost. That doesn’t matter to me at all. That mug is my favorite mug, I use it constantly for everything from cocoa to tea to a cereal bowl. Yes, it’s THAT big. )

So in any case, I’ve got to start looking for that iPod. I’ve heard good things about Buy.com, so I’ll probably start there first. )

So Happy

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

The snow we were supposed to get for today, that my Weather Channel Desktop is STILL predicting never showed up. Seriously. The sky is now only partly cloudy and no rain or snow ever dropped like they said it would. It is currently 38 degrees, sunny and I’m happy! Why? Because it means I don’t have to worry that I don’t have a ride to work and I don’t have to worry that I’ll lose my job for another day. If I can get all the way through March without missing any unscheduled days, I will a) keep my job, b) roll back at least one absence, pulling me off final warning for my full days. This will make me very happy indeed. Then I just need to get through April without issues for rides.

I am sad though. One of my co-workers who gave me rides, and who I really really liked hanging with at work, quit. Her mom always took her to work and her mom kept disappearing on her, leaving her to scramble for rides, so she quit. We all miss her. (

I also have a massive headache, and my lovely girly thing is here so yeah. Not feeling the greatest at the moment. Not feeling the greatest at all. Well, off I go to get ready for work.

This Oyster Was Sitting…

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Well, you see, this oyster was sitting on the bar, when Rick and Charlie walked in. Rick was showing Charlie his new pocket knife, a really fancy thing, when Charlie asked him what the handle inlaid with. Rick answered, “Mother of Pearl!” The oyster looked around and said “NOW WHAT?”

Ok, bad joke, I know. I never really knew how many different types of oysters there were. I thought all oysters produced pearls and all were edible. I guess not. I wonder what kind Gulf oysters are. I guess it doesn’t really matter though. I won’t be eating them!

See, I don’t like seafood. Never have. And after reading some of the things I’ve read about oysters lately, I’m glad. Like the various illnesses you can get from eating raw oysters, especially if you happen to have diseases that compromise your immune system. Some of them can even cause death. Not cool.

My mom was diabetic, which compromises the immune system, but fortunately, when she did eat oysters, they were cooked. Raw or cooked, they’re not going in my stomach. No way.

If you’re curious as to what you might need to know about oysters before you start munching away on them, you can always visit the Be Oyster Aware website. There’s a ton of great information there about oysters.

When will it end?

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

The snow I mean. We had an inch or two of it yesterday and now we’ve got more headed our way on Thursday. I don’t want anymore snow! I’m sick and tired of snow! It’s almost March. It should be getting warmer! No more snow!

Another thing…I’m sick of dressing up at work. When it is freezing f’n cold outside, wearing dress shoes is NOT fun. Especially since all my dress shoes are like, sandals. I swear, strappy sandal type dress shoes are the only ones I ever seem to buy. My one pair of dress shoes I adore even though I practically kill myself walking in them even if there isn’t snow and ice on the ground. When I wear them, I get a lot of “cute shoes” comments. Then I have to tell whoever asks that I bought them three years ago. LOL Yes, I’m wearing 3 year old heels. )

In any case. I should be going to bed soon I suppose. TTYL!
