Sidebar Rearrangement

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

I did a bit of sidebar rearranging so that Entrecard would be “above the fold” so that people see it first off. I also moved the AdSense ad up, even though that still has it “below the fold” oh well. I’ve never gotten a single click in all the time I’ve used AdSense on any of my sites, but I keep up there just in case. LOL

Wow, my refund so far sucks, and I’m telling you, it’s not going to get any better after I add the information from my 1099’s when I get them. No, it is definitely not going to get any better after that. I’m getting just over $500 back now, but I know that will drop after I get those 1099’s and enter them. I’m almost afraid to do my state taxes now because I’m positive that means I’ll be paying the state of Iowa, and I hate to see how much it’s going to be. I mean, after all, last year I got $1100 back from federal and $81 from state. I’m pretty sure that the state is gonna come up with “you owe us money.” And that is definitely going to suck. Oh well. I’ll live.

Whatever I get from federal goes to catching up on bills. Guess I’m gonna have to start working harder at getting opps for the paid blogging so I can get everything caught up. *sigh*

I’d better get going. I have to get dressed, get my lunch, and walk the dog before my ride gets here.

Kids Screaming

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

I am currently listening to my next door neighbors’ kids screaming their heads off. Why? Good question. All I know is that someone is apparently not wanting to clean up their toys, take a bath, or go to bed. At least that is what I would assume. In any case, it’s driving me absolutely bananas. And these parents will let it continue….they won’t attempt to make the kid be quiet or anything. They just ignore it even though they should know by now, if they can hear me talking on the phone, I can hear them talking and screaming.

The dad likes the scream at the kids a lot as well. Sometimes I’d like to call CPS on them because they have THREE kids and TWO adults in an EFFICIENCY apartment. I know it’s an efficiency because I asked my landlord about apartment 2. Then again these are the people who can’t by without asking the state for money but yet can turn around and purchase expensive stereo equipment, have satellite tv service, and all that jazz. I know because I’ve seen their setup when they’ve had their front door open and I’ve been entering my own apartment. *shakes head* I understand that some people NEED the money the welfare system provides, but when you’ve got a stereo that outblasts mine AND satellite TV which costs more each month than my digital cable, I don’t think you should be asking for money from the government, what say?

Good Grief

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I can see that people in North Texas have been having problems internet wise, considering most of my calls were from that area. And most of them were saying their internet was slow. Ok…. first…if you have a router, that will slow the connection down. Also, you’re on the same network as every single other person who has the service in your area, meaning if the entire neighborhood has your ISP, and they’re all on, you’re gonna slow down. But do people listen when they are told that? No. LOL

Amazing that people will call in to us and then proceed to act like we’re stupid. If you know so much about it, why did you call? Ok, enough ranting. I’m gonna find something better to do with my time. LOL

Wow

Amazing what a little exercise can do. Besides making my legs hurt. lol Since the weather isn’t that bad, and I can’t find my Leslie Sansone walking DVD for some reason, I went outside and took a walk. Not a long one by any means, but I did take a walk. It’s a little nippy out, but since I was in motion, my hoodie was just fine for the occasion. We have an “indoor track” at work consisting of walking around the upstairs, so I’m planning on walking it a little bit on my breaks tonight, to try and get a few minutes of workout going there. yay

And I changed my goals at SparkPeople so they have me at a more realistic 1,200 - 1,550 calories now. Thank goodness, because frankly, I thought 2,100 - 2,450 was awfully high for losing weight.

In any case, now I have to change out of my “exercise” clothes and into my business casual dress for work. Bleh. I hate dressing up. LOL
