My So-Called Life
This Burns Me Up
Over at Jenn’s site, I was reading about how she shouldn’t have gone out today. After reading why she said that, I can understand. What I don’t understand is how someone could do something like Jenn reported to the police.
How is it that any parent could possibly leave their child alone in a vehicle, no supervision whatsoever, while they go into a store and shop? I’m not talking running into the gas station to pay for the gas because you’re not using a credit card. I’m talking leaving your kids in the car to go into the grocery store or Wal-Mart or Target or wherever you’re shopping. How can people be so ignorant? There are a million things that could happen to them, but obviously those people who do that kind of thing never think about it. But they’re the first ones to scream about it if it does happen.
You’d think that people would have enough sense to realize that if it’s illegal to leave your PETS in the car, which in some places it is, then it’s definitely going to be illegal, not to mention stupid and irresponsible, to leave your KIDS in the car like that. Anyone who’s gotten away with it should feel lucky. Here, the STORE will call the cops, and the cops will take your kids away from you, with you standing right there. And then you get a nice little neglect charge on your record for willfully leaving your kids in the car with no supervision. If you’re one of those parents who sees nothing wrong with leaving your kids in the car, no problem. Have fun. But don’t say no one warned you.
