First Day

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Well, my first day at work wasn’t too bad. It was filled with the usual “get to know your fellow trainees” stuff. That can get really boring, but it’s cool. I got through it. ) Today we’ll start getting into the actual learning about Road Runner. We discussed a bit about it last night, but not a whole lot. A friend of mine asked me if I could do him a favor and raise the bar for tech support for Road Runner. I just laughed. I’ll try but I can’t promise anything.

I suppose I’d better actually get going. I have to get dressed, fix my lunch for work, and make sure the dog goes out to go potty before LaShawn comes to pick me up for work. Although I do have a little over and hour before she comes to get me. LOL

All I know is I can’t wait until my first check comes because I am BROKE. And it’s highly possible that I might end up with my phone, internet, and cable turned off before I get paid. Hopefully not, but it’s possible. *sigh* In any case, TTYL. )

Christmas Lights

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

You know Christmas is coming. It’s everywhere. I’ve seen Christmas decorations going up for sale at Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, and many other places. Some places, with smaller stores that don’t have room for all that haven’t started yet, but I know as soon as the Halloween decorations are gone, you’ll be finding the Christmas decorations out. I don’t really mind, because Christmas is my favorite holiday with Halloween coming in a close second. I decorate for both of them. One thing I’m always looking for each year is new lights. I’m seriously considering getting LED Christmas lights this year. There are a few reasons. Outdoor LED Christmas lights and LED Christmas tree lights both being available not being the least of them.

Also, they’re safer than normal lights because they don’t get as warm. LED Xmas lights are also much more difficult to break. You can drop them, step on them, run them over with the car (my dad did that one ye ar, believe me, it wasn’t a pretty sight), and they won’t break or stop working. They’re also much more efficient and last for more than 50,000 hours. That’s a lot of hours to be working through. So I am definitely interested in getting these lights for my tree and my porch this year. Any ideas of what you’d like to have as far as Christmas decorations for this year go?

Win $50!!

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Ok, this one’s almost over, but I decided I really couldn’t pass up the chance to win $50 at Nanashi-Inc. Joana is giving away $50 for the fall. You know how fall is. You find yourself needing a new coat before winter hits, maybe if you live where I do, you need to get the plastic sheeting to cover the windows for extra insulation. Whatever you may need it for, Joana’s willing to give you a chance to grab that $50.

All you have to do is go here and follow the simple rules. It’s not hard, and you can get a chance to win $50. But make sure you do it by 11:59PM MST on Sept 30th, or you’ll miss out on your chance!

Have a great day, again, and good luck! )

Red iPod Nano!

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Emma at It’s Write Now is giving away a red iPod Nano. This is the new one with the 8gig storage and video capabilities. She’s giving this away for her blog’s three month anniversary.

Entering is easy. All you have to do is write a post on your blog (sorry, forums don’t count) and link to both It’s Write Now, and this post about the contest. Then leave a comment with your post URL on the post about the contest. Easy right? But make sure you get your submission in by Oct. 31, because that’s when the contest ends.

Have a great day and good luck! )
