The Rookie Challenge
These days there’s a social network and games for and about everything. Finance and the stock market are no exception. There’s a pretty cool one out there right now called MyWallSt. They have a really neat thing there called the rookie challenge. Registration is free and so is game play. You can even win the weekly prize of $1000 cash! The basic premise of the game is that you are a rookie stock trader. You get $100,000 of virtual money with which you purchase stock in real companies. Your performance is tracked, and you get placed in the standing based on your performance against other Rookies. You can even view other members’ profiles and portfolios.
Getting started is easy. You simply register for free on MyWallSt.net. Then you build a profile page, including pictures, info about yourself, and a friends list if you like. After that you can start building your Rookie Portfolio. Everything is totally FREE here. It all runs on the same time period as the real stock market, so about 10:00 AM - 4:00PM, Monday through Friday is the market times. You can view a daily ranking of the top rookies and your portfolio, check on how much equity and cash you have, and more. This is a pretty cool thing for anyone who wants to learn stock trading or try out new strategies for trading. Give it a try. You might find yourself have a little fun.
