My Neighbors Suck

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

You know, I’m sick and tired of putting up with my neighbors. Today they were in the backyard area and one of them was reaching up to my window and pushing on my window fan to make it rattle in the window frame. Somehow, I’m not trusting my neighbor and will be pulling the fan out and closing my windows before I leave for work. I’ve already caught them peeking in my windows where the curtains are open to allow air to come in the windows. I’m really not happy with the neighbors as of late, and I definitely plan on complaining about their behavior to the landlords when I pay the rent this Friday. I should not feel uncomfortable in my own apartment.

And let me tell you, I will complain also about their kids’ behavior. Screaming, yelling, throwing things against my door, peeking in through the windows on my door. Yes I do believe that my landlord needs to be apprised of their behavior.

And I am not going to continue putting up with a fly trap on my front porch because they feel it’s fine to leave trash on the damn steps. No way. Forget it. That crap is getting nipped in the bud.

I’d give them what for myself, but I don’t speak Spanish and they don’t speak English. Go figure.

Puppies and Peanut Butter

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

My dog, Panda, loves peanut butter, as do most dogs. However, my dog is spoiled. LaShawn had jury duty today and ended up not needing the lunch she packed, so she tore up the sandwich into bite size pieces and fed it to Panda. He’s a spoiled pupper dog indeed.

Panda also had a seizure this morning, but as with last time, once the fog cleared, he was fine. This time he’s a bit on the sleepy side, but other than that, he’s doing fine. He’s eating, so that’s good. I know there’s something terribly wrong if he doesn’t eat, especially if it’s a human food treat.

I suppose I’d better get going. I have to go to work today. Bleh.

The Ethics of Blogging

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Did I miss something? Now I know what you’re going to say. A lot of you probably think it’s unethical to write blog posts and get paid for it. Well, since that’s not the only posts on this site, you don’t have to read those if you don’t want to. But how about charging someone just to get the “no follow” tag removed from your link in the comments? That is the topic of this post. There is actually someone out there who is willing to charge you $10 to have the “no follow” tag removed from your link in your comment on his blog. I removed the “no follow” tag using a plugin about a week ago. Now I was unaware that the “no follow” tag was even in use, so as soon as I found out about it and the plugin, I immediately put it up. There was no way I wasn’t going to allow my readers who take the time to comment on this blog to NOT get a link back to their sites! Everyone who comments on a blog deserves to have their sites known by Google, etc, which is what the “no follow” tag prevents. If there is a “no follow” tag on a link, Google won’t count that link because it doesn’t see it. (At least that is my understanding of the situation, please, correct me if I’m wrong.) There are other search engines that also do not “see” a link that has a “no follow” tag.

So, knowing that the way to have a popular site is to network, make your site seen by commenting on other blogs, AND to get Google and other search engines to index it and count the links back to your site, do you agree that it’s wrong to charge for “no follow” removal? Or do you think it’s perfectly fine and plan on trying it yourself?

New Theme

Monday, May 28th, 2007

I put up a new theme for this site, featuring ECW’s Kevin Thorn and his former valet, Ariel. Ariel was released  a couple weeks ago, but since she was in the picture, she’s there. LOL

I’m realizing that this site is becoming less and less personal and more and more commercial. I have a couple of other blog that as soon as they are eligible for PPP, I will be putting them into PPP and I will only take occasional posts for them for this blog. The reasoning behind this is that lately, it seems every other post is PPP. While I don’t want to stop using this site for that, I do want to slow it down a bit.

One of the sites, The Entertainment Muse is going to get an update later on tonight, as I have a movie to review and a book to review. Trust me, one is a good review, the other isn’t. I’ve started a new blog as well, Stuff I Use. It’s to review products and services that I personally have used. When it’s eligible, I’ll put it in PPP. Seems to me it might fit better there than here, but like I said, I’ll still do PPP on this blog.

Ok, off to finish the movie I’m going to review. Ciao!
